A Palestinian father is ordered to pay a large social security debt on behalf of his son who drowned in the Red Sea over 20 years ago, or so he was told.
In Jerusalem, 60-year-old Kamal is ordered by an Israeli court to pay a debt allegedly owed by his son Wael. Wael is believed to have drowned in the Red Sea decades earlier, but when no official record of his death can be found, Kamal follows the only remaining lead to uncover what happened to his son. As fragments of Wael’s past emerge, Kamal is drawn into a journey that confronts long-unanswered questions about his son and his disappearance.
